Legal Questions? Etsy’s Got Answers

Etsy published a post announcing a Q&A session with the Etsy Legal Team scheduled for Thursday, April 20th:

On Thursday, my fellow Admin from the Etsy Legal Team will be hanging out here in this thread to answer some of your Etsy Legal-related questions.

The Etsy Legal Team focuses on keeping our markets a safe space and empowering sellers to comply with the various laws wherever they have their business. While Etsy can’t provide you with specific legal advice, Etsy’s Legal Team can provide some general tips and demystify issues like intellectual property law, legal structures for your business, and hiring outside help.

You can also find information in the legal section of Etsy’s Seller Handbook.

When: Thursday (4/20) from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm ET
Where: Right here!
Who: You and Etsy’s Legal Team from the Brooklyn office
How: Post your legal questions here in this thread and vote for the questions you’d like to see answered. You can vote for specific questions by clicking the small thumbs up in the top right corner of the individual post. While voting is enabled, members may vote for up to three questions. If you vote a fourth time, your first vote will not count. Questions that are hostile, off topic, or unproductive won’t get answered.

Voting will close at 11:00 am ET on Wednesday (4/19) to give the team a little time to research your questions. Then on Thursday (4/20) we’ll be back here in this thread answering the top voted questions from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to refresh the page throughout the session as we’ll be highlighting Admin answers so they appear on the first page!
