UK Sellers Get Delivery Confirmation via Royal Mail

eBay published the following post on its UK announcement board on Wednesday:

Royal Mail have recently announced the first phase of Delivery Confirmation on Royal Mail 1st & 2nd Class for Small & Medium parcels purchased via online postage channels allowing you to now see whether the item you have sent has been delivered or attempted.

If you use the eBay label platform, eBay will automatically upload the delivery confirmation number into your My eBay. Sellers can also upload the delivery confirmation number to their sold items in My eBay. This is particularly important as we will start to use this as proof of delivery for Seller protection cases.

This is not a fully tracked service, and you will only receive a delivery confirmation status. The full details of Royal Mail’s Delivery Confirmation can be found here.
