eBay Gets Hip on College Campuses

eBay is trying to reshape its image among the younger generation, and it toured college campuses to generate buzz. One student newspaper described the event held on its campus. Reporter Shelby Whitehead of the University of Tennessee – Knoxville’s Daily Beacon wrote:

“The event attempted to dispel three myths when talking to students. The first was that only old or vintage items are sold on eBay. The second is that eBay is auction-only. The third was that eBay has slow shipping.”

The #eBay2Ways campaign also encouraged students to share pictures on social media sites.

EcommerceBytes had recently noted eBay was trying a hip approach in its email marketing.
