Etsy Adds Features to Pattern Stores

Etsy has added features to Pattern, which is a service that lets sellers set up a very basic website using the existing content, listings and tools from their Etsy shop. The new features are designed to help sellers with branding.

Etsy has added a new blog tool that allows sellers to publish posts that include text, photos, and embedded video. “Giving buyers better insight into your story can help earn their trust and make them feel more confident about making a purchase from your site,” Etsy reported. “Our research tells us that 57% of buyers say they’ll pay more for an item if they know who made it.”

Etsy suggests sellers use the blog to share their creative process, highlight new items, or to show buyers different ways that an item might be used, worn or displayed.

Etsy also added a new Pearl theme to Pattern that provides more creative control over the shop’s branding. “This theme also includes a new navigation bar and social sharing icons that stay on the page as you scroll, making it easier for shoppers to browse your site and share it on social media.”
