eBay Opens Marketplace to Caribbean Shoppers

eBay has opened up its Marketplace to Caribbean shoppers through a new partnership with CaribShopper, a platform powered by Mall for the World. Shoppers in the Caribbean will now be able to purchase items through the “eBay powered by CaribShopper” app.

The CaribShopper app enables shoppers to purchase products directly from over 100 retailers including Amazon, Macy’s, Banana Republic, DSW, Walmart, and Victoria’s Secret, companies that would normally be inaccessible to the Caribbean. In fact, CaribShopper says on its website that approximately 95% of online retailers in the US do not ship to the Caribbean

CaribShopper manages every aspect of the order cycle, including payments – shoppers don’t need to have a US credit card or US address. And items are displayed at the fully landed price – including shipping, duties and taxes.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to partner with CaribShopper, the Caribbean’s most popular online mall,” said Fernando Saiz, eBay’s Business Development Director, in the announcement of the partnership. “eBay is proud and extremely excited in entering the Caribbean market providing our marketplace sellers with the opportunity to sell into the Caribbean taking advantages of the key benefits CaribShopper is known for.”
