eBay Snoozes as Buyers Clamor for Bucks

eBay buyers are clamoring for the rewards owed them as part of the eBay Bucks loyalty program. A reader alerted us to the issue, telling us on Sunday night that eBay had not sent the certificates for eBay Bucks rewards due on January 3rd.

While some might pooh-pooh the delay, there’s nothing trivial about letting down your best customers who were waiting to make purchases. “Watching an auction ending tonight, was hoping to use the bucks,” wrote a member of the program on one of several threads about the problem on the eBay boards. “I am waiting to purchase a few items & it was due today,” wrote another.

“What the hey? I want to shop,” wrote another.

Members of the loyalty program say eBay is displaying a message that says, “Your certificate for the last earn period will be ready on 01/03/2016.”

The EcommerceBytes reader said eBay customer service reported technical difficulties and “said I would it get in in a few days.”

“Hoping the Buy It Now item I have my eye will not be gone by the time I get them,” said a buyer. Another replied, “I was going through the same ordeal all day. Had found a great Buy It Now offer and was itching to use my bucks to make the purchase. Luckily I found the same item for an even better Make an Offer deal that was accepted. So now I have some time to kill. But of course, still want to make the payment asap to ensure it ships asap. I hope your item is still available by the time they’re unlocked!”

Indicate if you’re having a problem with eBay Bucks on the Ecommerce EKG board.
