eBay Urges Sellers to List with New Pre-Christmas Promotion

eBay is running a 6-day free-listing promotion to help bring inventory to its site during and after Christmas. The invitation-only promotion applies only to listings with 30-day or Good ‘Til Cancelled duration.

Invited sellers can list up to 1,000 fixed-price listings – eBay is also encouraging sellers to use the Best Offer feature “for an easy way to boost sales.” It even quotes a number, writing, “Increase your sales by more than 50%,” writing:

“Fixed price listings utilizing Best Offer show an increase in sales greater than 70% when compared to listings that do not utilize Best Offer. Sales are defined as total dollar value sold on ebay.com from May 1, 2015-September 30, 2015.”

The promotion kicked off on December 9th and runs through December 14th. Sellers must activate the promotion.
