eBay heralded an exclusive deal with a new consumer electronics brand called ROC Live Life Loud, and while that may sound like a good idea for eBay, sellers of competing brand on the marketplace can be forgiven if they aren’t as enthusiastic about the special deal ROC is getting.
eBay touted the new partnership on its corporate blog. The new ROC brand is from a company cofounded by sports figure Cristiano Ronaldo, but his company won’t actually make the gadgets. eBay explains:
ROC LLL has a joint venture partnership with leading consumer electronics company Monster Products. Monster is designing and manufacturing an exclusive lifestyle electronics collection curated by Ronaldo.
eBay says the distribution deal is exclusive: “ROC secured a digital partnership – a launch agreement with eBay for worldwide distribution. As the exclusive launch platform for ROC Live Life Loud, eBay’s 157 million customers worldwide will enjoy access to ROC’s innovative new products, and a new way to connect with one of the world’s most successful and celebrated athletes.”
