Amazon Fashion Opens Photo Studio in London

Amazon has opened a photography studio in London in support of its fashion business. Amazon had announced its intention to build a 46,000 square-foot fashion photography studio in Shoreditch last month, calling it one of the largest of its kind in Europe intended to produce hundreds of thousands of on- and off-model images each year.

The London studio joins a 40,000 square-foot photo studio in Brooklyn, New York, which according to Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos last year shoots an average of 10,413 photos every day in the studio’s 28 bays.

To celebrate the new London studio, Amazon Fashion will host an event there for a day of talks and workshops to inspire fashion students and “young creatives.” The inaugural “Dazed Fashion Forum” is organized by Dazed and Confused magazine.

“Amazon Fashion is proud to be partnering with the Dazed team to bring this event to life” said Amazon Fashion EU’s Juliet Warkentin in a press release. “This is a unique opportunity to bring creative role models together with young people just breaking into the industry. We believe in nurturing emerging talent and this is an inspiring project to be involved with.” Tickets for the event cost 15 pounds with proceeds to be donated to a local charity.
