eBay Promotion Asks Sellers to List Items They No Longer Use

eBay is encouraging sellers to list long-duration fixed-price listings in a new 6-day listing promotion. The sale is clearly targeted at casual sellers and is by invitation only. “Listing isn’t just easy,” eBay wrote, “It’s also free.”

The marketplace provided examples of items to consider listing, urging users to cash in on items they no longer use, such as the following:

  • Digital cameras – $141 average selling price;
  • Wristwatches – $123 average selling price;
  • Outdoor gear- $44 average selling price.

The promotion kicked off today, March 24th, and runs through March 29th. Sellers must activate the offer first. They can then list up to 1,000 listings and pay no listing fee. All selling limits as well as category and item limits apply, and the promotion excludes relisted items.

“Millions of shoppers are looking for everything from gardening supplies to sports equipment,” eBay stated on the promotion landing page. “Take advantage of this special offer to cash in on items you no longer use. Just create a 30-day, fixed-price listing and the listing fees are waived. You’ll be surprised by how much you make selling on eBay.”

Some of the advice offered: Use keywords; provide photos; spelling matters; ship right away; listing title.

All other fees apply, see eBay website for details and restrictions.
