eBay is giving sellers up to 2,500 free listings in an end-of-February promotion, but there are many stipulations to which sellers should pay attention. And like many eBay promos in recent years, this sale is by invitation only.
The promotion is limited to fixed-price listings, and relists are excluded – no doubt an attempt to get new inventory on the site. Invited sellers must also activate the promotion before they can participate. The promotion appears to be limited to Store subscribers.
Invited sellers can list up to 2,500 fixed price listings and pay no insertion fees – all other fees do apply. In addition, selling limits apply and may prevent sellers from creating the maximum number of listings.
A seller who received the invitation said he was trying to figure out if there was a method to eBay’s promotion madness. “First, they offer sellers a discount on upgrading their store level which would increase the number of free listings a seller would have. Now, they are offering 2500 free listings.”
The seller was referring to recent eBay promotions that gave sellers an incentive to upgrade their Stores to a higher level. (eBay Stores come in Basic, Premium, and Anchor.)
The current promotion includes only 7-, 10-, and 30-day listing durations and runs from February 22 – 26, 2015. See the promotion invitation for details and restrictions.
