eBay Runs Listing Promotion with Half-off Commission Fees

eBay is running a free-listing promotion in the run-up to Christmas and, with an unusual twist, eBay is throwing in half-off commission fees as well. However, it’s an invitation-only sale and applies only to five listings.

Invited sellers can list in auction or fixed-price format and pay no insertion fees, no additional fee for adding 10-day Duration for up to five listings – and will receive 50% off Final Value Fees – if the items sell.

Another thing that sets this promotion apart from most others is that eBay is including 1-day duration listings, a nod to the fact there is not a lot of time for shipped orders to arrive by Christmas. For listings on eBay.com, 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, and 30-day listing durations are included as part of the promotion.

Sellers must activate the promotion by selecting “Activate offer” in the invitation.

Free insertion fees and discounted final value fees will be applied to the seller’s first five listings created during the promotion. Sellers who qualify for participation will have received an email and/or a message in My eBay.

eBay does not specify the promotion time period in the terms – it is shown to sellers in their invitations. One sent on Monday December 15 said it was good for 10 days, through December 24th.

All other fees apply, see details and restrictions on the eBay website.
