Etsy Enhances Checkout, Phone Support, Other Seller Features

Etsy reminded sellers of recent enhancements to the marketplace in a blog post called “Etsy Community News,” including a reminder of its expanded phone support and improvements to Direct Checkout and the shipping process. The company also revealed it plans to offer phone support in languages other than English this year:

Etsy phone support operates 7 days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern US time. We will happily call you wherever you are in the world, but we can only offer phone support in English at this time. We are working on providing support in other languages in 2014, so stay tuned!

Etsy currently offers phone support for shop-management issues, including opening a shop, Listings, Shop Stats, Processing Times and Shipping Profiles, and it has also added support for Etsy Gift Cards.

Etsy also significantly expanded the optional Etsy Direct Checkout to more sellers in Europe as EcommerceBytes previously reported, including Estonia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Portugal and Spain. And, “in addition to paying by credit card or Etsy gift card, buyers in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands can now use local payment methods SOFORT and iDEAL through Direct Checkout,” it said.

Etsy also improved the shipping process, including giving sellers the ability to schedule Shipping Notifications and expanded tracking visibility for more than 100 mail carriers; and it reminded sellers it had moved selling functions from the regular mobile app to the Sell on Etsy app for iPhone and Android devices, providing tools for managing Etsy shops on the go.

Etsy also recently improved the Vacation Mode feature – including the ability to edit current listings and create new draft listings while on vacation.

Etsy promised it would regularly post community news on the blog, with the next one due out in January.
