eBay UK Runs Promotion for Business Sellers

eBay UK is running a promotion in which business sellers can list up to 50,000 listings and pay no insertion fees. Like many eBay promotions these days, it’s by invitation only.

Sale listings are restricted to fixed-price format on eBay.co.uk, and sellers must “actively opt in to the promotion via the RSVP link shown in the marketing communication,” according to the terms of the promotion. Once opted in, business sellers will automatically receive zero insertion fees when they list or relist items in fixed price format through the Sell Your Item form, eBay seller tools, eBay Mobile apps and most third-party tools.

Some sellers who received the invitation via email were wary of a phishing scam and did not like the fact they’d have to click on a link in the email (the invitation did not appear in their account).

The promotion is restricted to eBay.co.uk registered business sellers who have been invited to participate by email or by a message in My eBay Messages and actively opt in to the promotion. Participation is linked to the invited seller’s account and is not transferable, and selling limits apply. Sellers who registered after March 15, 2011 or who haven’t listed any items for a while may have a selling allowance of 10 items per month or of 650 pounds per month. Sellers must be registered as resident in the UK.

The promotion runs from January 20 – 24, 2014. All other fees apply, see eBay UK website for details and restrictions.
