Lucky Few Receive Fee-Free eBay Listings in January

eBay is running a promotion in which sellers can list up to ten auction or fixed-price listings and pay no insertion fees and pay no final value fees. eBay rarely includes final value fees as part of its promotions, making this a rare opportunity for sellers who receive the invitation.

The special promotion is in addition to the 50 free insertion fee listings eBay gives sellers each calendar month, and, according to the terms of the promotion, “Free insertion fees and free final value fees will be applied to the seller’s first ten listings created during the Promotion.” However, invited sellers must activate the promotion by selecting “Activate offer” in the invitation email or on the promotion landing page – items listed prior to a seller activating the promotion will not be eligible for the promotional rate.

The promotion kicked off on January 10th and runs through January 27, 2014.

Sellers who qualify for participation will have received an email or message in My eBay. The promotion, which is not transferable, is then activated with the seller’s qualifying eBay user ID after the seller activates the promotion from the invitation email or on the Promotion landing page.

In addition to waiving insertion fees and final value fees, eBay will also waive the 10-day duration listing upgrade fee for 10-day listings, but other optional feature fees still apply. See eBay website for details and restrictions.

Note that eBay is also running a separate invitation-only promotion in which sellers who receive the invitation can list up to 200,000 auction listings (and auctions listings with Buy It Now) from January 11 – 21, 2014.
