eBay is running a promotion this week that offers sellers the ability to list items for free, but the sale isn’t open to everyone. In addition, those who do receive invitations are required to activate the promotion before they can participate.
Invited sellers who activate the offer can list up to 50,000 fixed-price listings and pay no insertion fees; 3, 5, 7, 10, and 30-day listing durations are included. The promotion runs from December 9 – 13, 2013.
eBay explains, “The Promotion is in addition to the free insertion fee promotion for up to 50 auction-style or fixed price listings per calendar month as further described here, or any other insertion fees that you receive as part of a Store subscription described here.”
eBay had told sellers back in September that they would have to “activate” promotions going forward. But most of the promotions since then have not required activation – this current promotion does. The activation feature is designed to give sellers the ability to control which listings have the promotional rates applied to them.
Sellers invited to participate in the current promotion will have received an email and/or message in My eBay. The promotion is activated with the seller’s qualifying eBay User ID after the seller activates the Promotion from the invitation email or on the promotion landing page. The promotion is for invited sellers only and is not transferable.
Only sellers whose accounts meet eBay’s minimum seller performance standards are eligible. All existing selling limits as well as category and item limits apply, and may exclude sellers from creating the maximum number of listings.
All other fees apply, see eBay website for details and restrictions.
