Visiting the eBay Vault now advises visitors that it has been replaced by PSA Vault, now the official vault for eBay. “We’re partnering with PSA for a more seamless experience,” the page states.
eBay announced in April that it had entered into a three-part transaction and partnership with Collectors (which owns PSA) that included the sale of eBay Vault to PSA. eBay will be integrated into PSA’s new vault experience, unlocking new benefits to customers like listing at the time of grading and easy selling on eBay via consignment through PSA, the companies stated.
eBay had told customers that once the new PSA Vault launched, their digital collection would reside on PSA’s website and app, and would also remain viewable through the eBay Collection tool. Those without a PSA account will be provided with instructions in an email on how to claim the account PSA set up for eBay customers in order to access their items. (“No financial data will be shared in this transfer,”) eBay stated.
PSA published a video to YouTube announcing the availability of the PSA Vault, which it said offered a streamlined buying, grading, storing and selling experience for all collectors. “This new seamless experience brings together eBay’s best-in-class marketplace platform with PSA’s expert authentication & grading services and vault product.”
The video features PSA President Ryan Hoge, who explained, “Every card with PSA vaulted or submitted for grading is now one step away from a seven day eBay auction hosted by PSA on our eBay storefront, and marketed with details and imagery to an ocean of buyers who value authenticity”:
According to Sports Collectors Daily, PSA’s Delaware-based vault now includes over 300,000 items valued at more than $300 million.
PSA set up FAQs for the PSA Vault. New rates apply, so collectors who used eBay Vault should check out the PSA website for details and Terms of Use.
