Etsy to Proceed with Plans to Retire Old Listing Form on Tuesday

Etsy will proceed with its plans to retire the old listing form on June 25th, but said it had made some improvements to the new listing form after sellers raised concerns about missing functionality in the new form.

Etsy acknowledged some shortcomings in a subsequent post, and on Friday, it said it had added the following features to the new listing form:

  • Adding manual translations to your listings
  • Sharing your listings on your Pattern site
  • Editing private, custom listings in the new form
  • Viewing and editing all listing states (e.g., inactive or expired)

Etsy said it also planned to add a way to preview shipping price.

In the latest post on June 14th, Etsy said it also addressed some issues that had affected bulk-editing and renewing sold out listings:

“Our team recently identified an issue impacting the ability to bulk edit listings for some members, which has since been resolved. Upon investigation, our team uncovered that one of our latest updates to the listings manager had unintentionally caused this issue. This functionality is back to normal, and you should now be able to resume bulk editing your listings. We also identified an issue with renewing sold-out listings and are working on fixing this within the next week.

“We apologize for any confusion or disruption this may have caused, and we appreciate your patience as we make improvements and necessary updates to the listing experience. Thank you, everyone, for bringing this to our attention.”

  1. I don’t think anything related to Etsy is worth commenting. The new form offers no improvements, quite opposite. It’s longer, it’s chaotic, the only feature I liked is gone (a permanent banner at the bottom showing the title, which enabled me to double check the spelling or see the content before I posted the listing. Now I have to scroll the endless form back. I sell the same type of product, there should be an option to hide the category section, attributes or other parts. Just pathetic, redesigned by Etsy “AI”.
