eBay Promotion Entices Sellers of Desirable Trading Cards

eBay is running a promotion to encourage collectors and dealers to list their high-value trading cards, one of its priority categories. “Sell your best trading cards for bigger profits,” eBay advertised on the promotion landing page, enticing sellers by offering them 50% off on commission fees for singles that sell for over $1,000.

The offer applies to graded or ungraded single trading cards that sell for over $1,000 in the sports, non-sports, and collectible card game categories. The listing must sell by May 4, 2025.

eBay noted that its authenticators would inspect eligible cards (at no cost to sellers) before being shipped to buyers.

During eBay’s recent fourth-quarter earnings call on February 26, eBay CEO Jamie Iannone told Wall Street that the trading cards category achieved “healthy” double-digit growth, making it the largest contributor to GMV growth in the quarter. Iannone pointed to numerous “innovations” over the past year, including magical bulk listing capability; expanded authentication and grading partnerships; scaled up eBay Live (live auctions); and improved catalog data, as well as the availability of consignment through PSA.

Sellers must activate the current promotion, which kicked off on March 3rd, and they must meet eligibility requirements. Read the Terms and Conditions for details and restrictions.
