eBay Enhances Loyalty Program for Developers

eBay is making changes to its loyalty program for third-party developers, such as Seller Sourcebook Development LLC, a company that offers inventory-management and image-hosting services to sellers on eBay and other marketplaces.

The eBay Developers Loyalty Program is designed for eBay’s “best” sell-side developers, and membership in the program is on an invitation-only basis. The program features three tiers: Gold (“The top performers”); Silver (“The up-and-coming”); and Bronze (“The small but promising”).

eBay told developers this week that it will offer upgraded concierge, expanded benefits, and clearer guidelines, and it said it would have more details to share in February. For now, it offered the following explanation of what’s changing:

Concierge-level service: for gold, silver, and bronze partners, our expert partner managers will guide you with tailored insights through newly structured business reviews and strategic joint business initiatives to accelerate your growth.

Expanded benefits: enjoy exclusive benefits based on your tier including marketing opportunities, early access to product innovations, and consulting engagements – with more to come.

Clearer guidelines: gain insights into the factors we consider for program qualification, with stronger support to help you unlock enhanced rewards and exclusive program benefits. We recognize and reward partners who:

  • Fuel seller success by driving year-over-year sales growth and new-to-eBay sellers
  • Empower sellers to offer high-quality selection that drives conversion
  • Provide outstanding service by maintaining operational excellence and above-standard seller performance

eBay said it would continue to launch new initiatives for developers who are members of the Developer Loyalty Program in the coming year. “You can look forward to new support channels and upgraded guides for simpler onboarding and troubleshooting, an improved sandbox for end-to-end testing, automated API call limits for uninterrupted service, and much more.”
