eBay is holding another free-listing promotion and it appears to be open to all sellers, though no one has been discussing it on the eBay boards as of Monday evening. There’s no mention of the word “invitation” in either the email or the promotion landing page as there usually is in an invitation-only promotion. However, sellers should note a discrepancy in the terms and conditions.
The email says: “Limit 9,999 qualifying listings in the auction-style format or auction-style with Buy It Now format. Sellers may also add 10-day Duration to these listings for free.” While the landing page states:
“Sellers who create a listing in the auction-style format, auction-style with Buy It Now format, or fixed price format in select categories (see exclusions), pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth herein (“Qualifying Listing”), will pay no insertion fee per item listed and no additional fee for adding 10-day Duration to these listings (“Promotion”) for up to 2,500 listings during the Promotion Period (as defined below).”
The promotion runs from August 26 – 30, 2014.
eBay promotes its mobile apps in both the email and landing page, with the latter stating: “Between free listing and our user-friendly mobile app, making cash is easier than ever! Get the app.” The email also includes a tip: “Fashion and collectibles have a better chance of selling auction-style.”
All other fees apply, see website for details and restrictions.
