Etsy is adding transparency to its ad program for online sellers, called Promoted Listings, explaining it has received feedback that it’s difficult for sellers to see which of their listings are being advertised and which are not at any given time.
Online marketplaces like eBay, Amazon, and Etsy allow sellers to pay extra fees to give their listings additional exposure. While some sellers may feel it’s counter-intuitive since they already pay listing fees for exposure, others see it as a marketing expense they’re willing to pay to boost sales.
Etsy began rolling out an update to the Promoted Listings console that shows more clearly which listings are being advertised and which are not.
In addition, Etsy said participants in the ad program have said they wanted a way to remove ineligible listings – such as deactivated, deleted, expired or sold out listings – from the console. The new release will allow sellers to more easily filter listings and remove ineligible products from their Promoted Listings dashboard.
The announcement can be found on this page, and more information about Promoted Listing ads is found on this page.
