eBay is holding a Green Monday sale on December 9th. Twelve years ago, eBay coined the term for what has historically been one of the company’s biggest holiday shopping days (green for saving money, not green for the environment).
The deals kick off at 8 am ET, with a wide selection of gifts from fashion, home, toys, tech and more. Because the deals are restricted to a small number of participating sellers, eBay is able to promote the deals “all with free shipping at eBay.com.” And it’s able to extend its “Best Price Guarantee” promise on those items.
In today’s announcement, Sam Bright, VP and GM of Merchandising at eBay said, “On eBay, we’re making holiday shopping easier than ever for our customers – from offering amazing December deals shoppers won’t want to miss, to an incredible selection of gifts and guaranteeing the best value with our Best Price Guarantee program, to fulfilling last-minute orders with Guaranteed Delivery.”
The deals continue beyond Green Monday – eBay is offering “Six Days of Gifts” events from December 10 – 15th, “which includes some of the biggest brands and must-have gifts, across footwear, toys, beauty and more.”
Top events during the “Six Days” event include the following:
- 30% off eBay’s adidas store
- Toys: LEGO, dolls, action figures
- Gifts for home sweet home
- UGGs under $110
- Console and PC gaming up to 50% off
- Fragrances up to 80% off
- 40% off fitness tech
eBay said Green Monday has consistently ranked as one of eBay’s top five sales days of the year.
Well for those of us who are not members of eBay’s deal group, I guess we can only hope for some increased traffic. Not likely though. Should be the worst Green Monday ever; like every other Monday for the past few months.
