Sellers Can Offer Precise Delivery Estimates on Google via ShipStation
Sellers who use ShipStation can now make sure their listings shown in Google search results include “precise, location-specific delivery predictions” through a new integration with Google’s Content API for Shopping.
Shoppers can see more accurate delivery estimates, which ShipStation said reduces cart abandonment. A spokesperson explained how the new integration works:
- ShipStation syncs order tracking data with Google.
- Google’s machine learning models analyze the data to generate precise delivery predictions.
- Shoppers see these estimates right on the product listings.
According to Tuesday’s announcement, nearly 25% of global shoppers consider delivery speed as the most crucial factor in their purchasing decisions. Citing research from ShipStation and Retail Economics, the company said that with Google’s advanced machine learning models, “ShipStation retailers can enhance their product listings with detailed delivery time predictions.” This allows sellers using ShipStation to differentiate themselves with highly accurate delivery estimates, potentially boosting conversions and customer satisfaction.
Another benefit: Products with faster, high-confidence delivery promises may rank higher on Google, increasing visibility and sales potential, ShipStation said.
On the ShipStation website, it states that sellers can earn the “Free & Fast” and “Top Quality Store” badges more easily with the integration, since they are strongly influenced by quoted shipping speeds and shipping speed confidence scores.
Matt Schurk, Chief Sales Officer at Auctane, which operates the ShipStation multi-carrier shipping software to multi-channel merchants, called the new integration a game-changer for winning sales in today’s competitive online shopping landscape. “Retailers gain a crucial edge, while shoppers enjoy the transparency and speed they crave. It’s a true win-win situation for businesses and consumers,” he said.
The integration is available for ShipStation customers in the United States, more information is available on the ShipStation.com website.
Useless exercise (for buyers), neither google nor shipstation have any effect on the shipping companies. Just another advertising trick.
