
eBay’s Chief Financial Officer Steve Priest and its Chief Product Officer Eddie Garcia are departing, eBay announced directly after announcing 1st quarter 2025 earnings. It’s also “evolving” its leadership structure.
Jordan Sweetnam will lead the newly combined Global Markets and Product organization as Chief Commercial Officer. Mazen Rawashdeh will lead the unified engineering organization as Chief Technology Officer.
In its press release, eBay said of its executive changes, “eBay is evolving its leadership structure designed to fuel faster innovation, deepen cross-functional collaboration, and position the company for long-term growth in a rapidly evolving digital and AI-powered landscape.”
eBay is bringing together product and market teams into a “more integrated, agile structure designed to enhance speed, alignment, and customer-centricity across the organization.” It’s also consolidating Engineering into a single organization “reflecting a broader ambition to operate with greater speed and drive operational scale.”
Jamie Iannone, who celebrated his 5-year anniversary as eBay’s CEO on Sunday and earned $20.3 million in total compensation last year, said, “We’re making these changes from a position of strength.”
eBay and its Chief Financial Officer Steve Priest determined on April 25th that Priest would step down from his current role on May 11th. In its filing with the SEC, eBay informed the agency, “Mr. Priest is not departing due to any disagreement with the Company or the Board relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices or any issues regarding its accounting policies or practices.”
Replacing Priest, who earned $8 million in total compensation in 2024, will be Peggy Alford, who joins the company from PayPal, where she was Executive Vice President, Global Sales. Alford will join eBay on May 5th as a Strategic Advisor until May 12th, when she will then take the CFO reins. Priest will step down as CFO on May 11th, but will remain at the company until July 31, 2025 to support the transition, during which he will continue to receive his base salary and benefits.
Eddie Garcia will transition to the role of Strategic Advisor, effective as of May 12, 2025. He will remain with eBay until July 18, 2025 to support the transition, during which time he will continue to receive his base salary and benefits.

A Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is a C-suite executive responsible for developing and executing a company’s commercial strategy, which includes all aspects of selling products or services to customers AKA a NEW person in a position vacated by others in this case – who has to sell eBays mafioso visions to the masses.

eBay management will continue operate the company as the Ponzi Scheme it is.
eBay management’s entire goal is to keep the stock price up at any cost so they leave the company cash out their stock options for millions.
Can you name one thing eBay management ever innovated?
Online auctions, fixed priced items, pictures in listings, eBay’s own API, scheduled listings, listing software, PayPal and a host of other things were all invented by other people and companies. eBay simply stole the idea or bought the company that created them. eBay was even sued for infringing on early online auction patents invented by someone else.
Meg Whitman’s so called great leadership is 100% myth. Any old timer eBay knows her entire eBay expansion was based on stealing other people’s ideas and her time at HP would be 100% disaster, which it was.
Even when eBay owned PayPal it was ING doing all the international transactions behind the scenes.
eBay has turned more and more massive consumer scams to deal with their dying site and losing millions of users.

Promoting free shipping.
Forcing Americans to provide eBay and its Chinese vendors with billions in subsidies by misusing a UPU program designed to help poor countries. USPS was forced to raise domestic rates over an dover again to deal with loses on foreign mail due to eBay’s abuse, which earned eBay more FVF.
Hiding listings and shipping options.
Changing all seller’s shipping discount settings to commercial rates instead of retail.
Selling private insurance to undermine USPS profits on insurance so USPS raises rates so eBay earns more money.
Refusing to block international buyers and using them to shill bid items.
Allowing foreign buyer agents to operate on their site as way to fool sellers into shipping items out to buyers they think are domestic. This has resulted in thousands of sellers getting ripped.
Allowing sellers who are friends of management, to advertise third party websites in their store header as way to make off eBay sales and avoid eBay feed.
Refusing to stop sellers from using stock photos of a used item for multiple quantities of used items.
Refusing to allow decimal values for package dimensions to inflate shipping costs.
Removing the ability to charge each carrier commercial or retail rate on a individual basis for over a year.
