Etsy to Feature Sellers at Holiday Pop Up in NYC

Etsy will feature several sellers at a holiday pop-up event in New York City at the end of October. The Etsy Holiday Pop-Up is an “immersive IRL shopping experience coming to NYC’s vibrant West Village.”

Certain sellers will be on hand to offer portrait drawings (Jenn Kitagawa); a “DIY charm bar” (Jill Foreman of Jill Makes); and on-site monogramming (Karen B. of Lu & Company).

“It’s a unique opportunity to discover the best of Etsy and connect directly with people behind the items: talented Etsy sellers,” the marketplace said in its announcement. It did not describe how it recruited the sellers who will be participating at the event.

The event will offer exclusive giveaways, holiday gift guides, and treats, and Etsy will reveal the 2024 Etsy Design Award winners.

The Etsy Holiday Pop-Up event will be held at 576 Hudson Street in New York City. The event will kick off on Friday, October 25 and will run through Sunday, October 27th.

  1. *** It’s too late ***

CEO Silverman & Co allowed Etsy to become infested with cheap overseas products and mass manufactured goods. And now, Etsy is trying to “change course” while the damage has already been done. As a jeweler on Etsy, I need a professional repeat buyer who can easily spend $300 on a regular basis, however, Etsy has now attracted a low income buyer who expects quality from a shady overseas seller who sells jewelry, with free shipping, for $49.95.

Etsy got greedy years ago just to “jack up” the stock price. And now Etsy has failed as buyers have lost interest.

    *** S&P 500 ***
Oh yeah….one more thing… Etsy got kicked out of the S&P 500 last month for poor performance, while other analysts believe Etsy stock will drop from $52 to $45.

Etsy’s poor management ruined Etsy. This NYC event will do nothing for Sellers.
