Etsy published a roundup of changes it has made to seller tools this year, including changes to the seller listing form and its insights tool designed to help sellers make data-driven decisions. It will use the new page launched today (March 30) to provide further updates over time.
Etsy had previously announced changes to the listing form when it informed sellers it would begin to auto-fill certain fields such as shipping profiles and return policies using information previously used by sellers.
Some of the changes Etsy described will roll out gradually to sellers, such as a new Shop Manager page designed to make it more intuitive to change settings and to make it clearer how shop sections appear to visitors. One change that remains in beta testing is designed to give sellers smarter insights to grow: Enhanced Marketplace Insights and new targeted offer reporting “help sellers optimize listings, promotions, and inventory with clearer performance data.”
In a section titled, “Enhanced search tools in Marketplace Insights,” Etsy provided the following information:
We created the Marketplace Insights tool last year to help you identify keyword opportunities and understand search trends. As we continue improving the tool, we’re testing updates to make tracking trends and refining your listings even simpler:
- Week-over-week trends: Quickly see whether buyer interest in a search term is rising or falling week over week, so you can adjust listings or inventory based on demand.
- Saved searches: Save up to 50 searches to easily revisit and monitor keywords over time.
- Similar search term sorting: Sort keyword ideas by search volume or number of listings to compare opportunities.
- Improved keyword ideas (English only): Discover more relevant and creative related keyword ideas to help you identify new search terms to target. Use thumbs up or down to help improve suggestions.
These features are currently being tested and may not be visible to all sellers.
In a section titled “Targeted offer performance at a glance,” Etsy wrote: “Performance metrics for targeted offers are now visible directly in Sales and discounts. The new table shows key data like offers sent, purchases, conversion rate, and revenue per offer, so you can see what’s working and plan your next promotion with confidence.”
Last week, ecommerce consultant and Etsy expert Cindy Baldassi published an analysis of some of the changes she had spotted in a post on her CindyLouWho2 Patreon.
