A seller reported a problem with shipping labels on Saturday that eBay confirmed on Monday was a known, sitewide issue. “I had 6 orders that needed shipping,” the seller wrote on a thread on the eBay discussion boards. “Got through 5 of them and then the 6th order gave me a label which was tied to my buyer but the tracking number was to a previously sold item by a different seller that was already delivered. System doesn’t show its shipping and won’t let me update it.”
“Had to contact my buyer to let them know we’re working on resolving the issue,” the seller continued, “but if it can’t be resolved we’re going to have to go to usps to get one and message the buyer with a tracking number.”
An eBay Moderator replied on page 3 of the thread on Monday: “This a known sitewide issue that does have a ticket open for resolution as soon as possible. We apologize about the issue and I will be sure to keep you and others updated as the ticket is resolved.”
However, eBay had yet to update the known-issues thread on the Technical Issues discussion board (eBay last updated the thread on September 18th).
Sellers also discussed the problem elsewhere, such as in this Reddit thread. On Sunday, a seller said there was a note on the shipping page saying “eBay is aware of the issue, and your item will be delivered to your buyer.”

no surprise
There are no glitches when a seller purchases their labels from an online shipping platform such as Pirate Ship.
In fact, if you link your eBay account with a Pirate Ship account, the tracking number for a label purchase is automatically sent to eBay, who then makes the tracking information available to the buyer.
