eBay sellers in Canada have a lot to contend with this summer as the company changes to a single-currency marketplace and with the very real possibility of a postal disruption as early as Friday.
There’s a lot to pay attention to, and hopefully no sellers will be caught off guard next month when eBay Canada makes a change to GTC listings. “Good Til Cancelled” listings are a set-it-and-forget-it duration – they renew automatically. eBay gave sellers extra time to get those listings in compliance with its new policy of Canadian currency only.
However, early next month, eBay will shut off GTC listings that are not in compliance. In an announcement on Monday, the marketplace explained:
- Beginning on August 3rd, Good ‘Til Cancelled listings created on eBay.ca in US dollars will no longer renew.
- Beginning on August 3rd 2016, all remaining Good ‘Til Cancelled (GTC) listings created on eBay.ca in US dollars will be ended by eBay as they reach their first scheduled renewal date on or after August 3rd.
If you list on eBay Canada, be sure your listings are in compliance – read the full details on the eBay Canada website.
