There was a time when online sellers would eagerly await eBay’s Christmas selling promotion designed to encourage sellers to keep listing new goods after the busy holiday-shopping period, but the tradition has died as free listings have become common.
That doesn’t mean sellers don’t appreciate free-listing promotions, and eBay gave some sellers in the UK something to celebrate.
eBay is running a free-listing promotion for non-business sellers in the UK through the end of January. Private sellers can list auction-style or fixed price listings and pay no insertion fees.
However, sellers are having the same questions we did upon reading the terms and conditions – how many listings can they create under the promotion? It appears at first glance to be unlimited, but there’s an indication it may be restricted to 100 listings,…
“I’ve had exactly the same offer on this posting account, but puzzled by the terms of the other promo…Has anyone got something showing in their promotional offers section to indicate the limits of this “main” promo, as I’ve got the email, but nothing in the seller dashboard and no button to accept the offer. I listed something to see what would happen, but it came off what’s left of the normal monthly allowance – I wondered if it might somehow “kick-start” the promo. I seem to remember a glitch and confusion with a promo a few months ago, and wonder if the same thing applies here i.e. there’s a glitch in the system,” one seller wrote in this discussion thread.
eBay UK is also running other promotions, such as this one that runs through January 4th. So as always, read details carefully, and keep in mind that all other fees apply.
