eBay sellers are welcoming a new promotion that kicked off on Wednesday and runs through December 7th. “Earn extra cash now! Put more auction-style and fixed price listings in front of holiday shoppers during the biggest shopping week of the year and pay zero insertion fees,” the email stated.
The promotion gives sellers up to 2,000 free listings during Cyber Monday week. It is by invitation only but seems to be quite broad – numerous sellers forwarded emails they received inviting them to participate. “Very useful,” one seller called it.
The gist of the promotion: “Invited sellers who activate the offer and then create a listing in the auction-style format, auction-style with Buy it Now format, or fixed price format, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth herein, will pay no insertion fee per item listed for up to 2,000 listings during the Promotion Period. All existing selling limits on your account (as well as category and item limits) still apply, and may prevent you from creating the maximum number of listings in this Promotion. The Promotion is in addition to the free listings per month as part of the everyday rate plan.”
Even though the subject line reads, “List 2,000 items for free – 5 DAYS ONLY,” the promotion kicked off on December 2nd and runs through December 7th.
Invited sellers must activate the promotion, which excludes 1-day or 3-day duration. All other fees apply, see your invitation for details and restrictions.
eBay is also running an invitation-only promotion in which it is extending a shipping discount to sellers through the end of the year – with a free-returns offer. See related story for more information.
