PayPal experienced an outage on Cyber Monday, the second day in a row during what is the busiest time of year for most online merchants. The problem began after 8:30 am ET and appeared to be over within an hour.
A PayPal spokesperson provided EcommerceBytes with the following statement at midday on Monday. “Earlier today, PayPal experienced a brief, intermittent interruption in our service. We have resolved the issue and customers can pay with PayPal on Cyber Monday.”
The company did not address questions about Sunday morning’s outage that saw the service unavailable to users for under 2 hours.
It appears that some users who log in after the outages are presented with an older version of the site.
