eBay sent shoppers a new coupon last week after a glitch prevented them from redeeming coupons it sent them last month. eBay UK had invited sellers to receive 20% off when they spent 20 pounds or more on eBay UK, with a maximum coupon value of 50 pounds.
Interestingly, the company didn’t apologize in its July 22nd email. “We know that you weren’t able to redeem our 20% off coupon on 15 June, so here’s another coupon especially for you.” eBay gave the shoppers a day to redeem the new coupon.
Many eBay buyers were upset over the June incident as they had spent a lot of time shopping for the right item to purchase and felt eBay UK didn’t keep them apprised about the problem. Some faced the prospect of long wait-times to try to reach customer service reps, who were ultimately unable to help them redeem the coupons.
The glitch gained attention as angry shoppers turned to social networking sites like Twitter to complain, full coverage is in this EcommerceBytes Newsflash article.
