eBay UK is suffering an outage today that’s being tracked by monitoring firm DownDetector. And according to ITProportal.com, it’s the site’s 10th outage in a year.
eBay.com’s website experienced problems in late July and was widely inaccessible on July 31st, but the company downplayed the incident, first ignoring reports and then finally denying it was an outage on its Systems Announcement board.
As for the problems on eBay.co.uk today, eBay UK tweeted at 7 am EST, “We are investigating reports some customers are having trouble accessing eBay. We will update as soon as we have more information. Thank you.”
Among the replies, one seller tweeted, “It’s been down all morning and you’ve only just noticed? It would be funny if I didn’t have auctions ending tomorrow.”
Another user replied, “”Some” customers? The whole of the UK and northern Europe? Don’t tell the truth in case the shareholders get itchy feet.”
eBay UK has had a string of bad luck, from a security breach to anti-semitic termsdisplaying in search results.
