Buyer Says eBay Pop-ups Disrupt His Shopping

Assuming that you get past the AI chat bot and get a human it will most likely be someone at one of their Indian call centers who are paid an industry average of $2.40 an hour and who have no power to do anything other than claiming to file a report which eBay does not care about and essentially will go unread into the trash.

There is the eBay community forum, but that is a propaganda tool as any criticism of eBay will be met with fanboy responses and a possible ban from the forum.

Other sites such as Mills Fleet Farm do something similar - I visit the site and before I can type a search term its already displayed one or two popups that interrupt my search.

Are there any browser extensions or existing settings you can use to block these popups?

eBay has made local Facebook Marketplaces extremely user unfriendly due to the large number of eBay ads inserted into the feed. I need to use a browser extension that grays out any ads to make it useable. For instance, the local "Free Stuff" feed has 5 legit listing out of 55 items.

Assuming the seller also knows this - and the need to calculate customized shipping is not an atypical circumstance btw - it’s too bad one of eBay’s state of the art developers didn’t have the foresight to give the seller some kind of anti-pay now nag bot toggle they could set acknowledging the payment is agreed as pending.  

At least something they can offer until their AI actually grows an e-snapse or two smarter.  Might take awhile.

I am having the same experience / problem.  For the last 1-2 weeks, I am getting 3-5 emails per day and today I got a pop-up when I tried to view a lot (telling me to pay up....).

So far I have ignored them, but my concern is that I am a high-volume buyer and I am worried that the next step would be to take away my bidding privilege.

I am a "professional BUYER". I am buying a certain type of collectible for inventory for a NON-eBay website).  I usually have 100-200 bids pending at any one moment and I usually win about 50% of my bids. I often bid on a large number of lots from 15-25 sellers.  

I have already discussed with each seller my need to accumulate items for combined shipping and combined payment. The sellers have each told me what their accumulation time limits are (from 14 to 30 days -- but I always am sure to pay within 28 days just to be sure ... eBay's limit is 30 days and then eBay will cancel the pending transactions).  Even if I have not yet reached the sellers time limit, I will usually pay sooner if I have accumulated at least 40 items with that seller. THE SELLERS HAVE ALL AGREED TO THIS AND THEY ARE HAPPY TO HAVE MY BUSINESS.

eBay seems to be doing its best to CHASE ME AWAY.

I can't believe that they really want to annoy a high-volume buyer in this way.

This is just another example of the "inexperienced" managers at eBay who do not understand -- and don't realize that they don't understand -- how transactions actually work in various different categories of items and with various types of buyers and sellers.  It is as if the mangers think that people only buy one thing on eBay per month or something like that.  However, just SO FAR tonight I placed 75 bids, over 50 of them with one seller.

It is madness.

They didn’t want to hear that ‘one size does not fit all’ 20 years ago.  Doesn’t seem to penetrate their hubris when so well said today either.
