Etsy is testing a new process to make it easier for sellers to appeal enforcement decisions on individual listings. The news came in
a post from Etsy President Kruti Patel Goyal on Monday about how the marketplace will support and protect sellers during the upcoming holiday shopping season.
Goyal said Etsy would also double coverage under Etsy Purchase Protection during the holiday season, "stepping in if an order doesn't go as planned so sellers can keep moving forward with confidence."
Etsy describes
Etsy Purchase Protection for sellers as follows: "For eligible sellers, our program can offer a little extra peace of mind when cases arise. Etsy may cover buyer refunds for orders up to $250 on any case arising from a qualified order." Presumably that will increase to $500 during the holidays.
Etsy is also adding a new dashboard in Shop Manager that provides more insight into seller policy violations because, Goyal said, "Sellers have told us they want more transparency and guidance from us on how they can keep their shop in good standing."
In addition, Etsy is adding improved tools in Shop Manager and optional AI-powered features:
"To help sellers free up time, we've introduced a suite of improved tools. In Shop Manager, sellers will now see "Top Tasks" to help prioritize urgent actions, and our new Marketplace Insights tool powered by real Etsy data serves up buyer trends and ways to more effectively engage with them. We're also putting the power of AI into sellers' hands with tools like title suggestions and Writing Assistant, which make it easier for them to clearly communicate with buyers and spend more time on the parts of their business they love."
Goyal also said Etsy would launch a "new-and-improved" Community Hub next month, "complete with AI-powered search, fresh educational resources, and a revamped Teams experience for discovering and joining groups of like-minded creatives."
