Any Tricks to Getting eBay Reps on the Phone?

I thought it was just me that couldn’t reach them. It was already outsourced to other countries but I guess even that was too pricey for eBay . I wish I didn’t need to sell with them. They are still the biggest in terms of potential customers for me anyway. I would love to quit them but don’t get enough off Mercari and hate Poshmark and Etsy .

In a supreme effort to provide MORE free meals, baby sitting services, workout spaces and a few other perks to its employees, eBay has made it almost impossible to speak to real people.

Real People (good or bad) cost money. Even though it was only a few dollars over in south east Asia, it still didnt matter as there had to be a few Americans overseeing the project and that too cost money (they were based in UT).

eBay still does have some contracted US based agents - maybe Uncle Grifter (who OF COURSE advocates for sellers) can find them for you before he runs out the door.

Beyond the funds 1) eBay doesnt empower them to do very much - so even if you get one on the phone .... they have no power aka they are there to make you feel better - thats all. 2) eBay doesnt "want to hear from you (or me)" aka from the NOISE. eBay is always right as are what IT believes to be its customers (buyers) so therefore "talking to a rep isnt really needed". If we want to steal your item(s) or money we will - and theres not a d@mn thing you can do about. 3) after the unempowered reps are done with you - it goes to some AI chatbot who auto-declines what ever request you asked for so ......

Click Help & Contact and get the AI chatbot (Uncle Griffs 2 yr old neice) and type in AGENT - a few times and if its your first "request" (they keep count) they will get some one (SE Asia) to call you. ou can then plead your case, but if its anything more then "I think the colors on the web page need updating" aka nonesence, nothing will happen. They cant remove feedbacks, they cant undo or help you with Vero issues, they cant refund your money for anything ... and they dont care if you yell at them ... its almost robotic.

Good luck on your quest to find (the holy grail, the Epstein List, who REALLY shot JFK, JR EWING (Dallas) or where the BILIONS NYC spent on illegal aliens went to) help on you issue.

Anything with copyrighted or trademarked material can be removed at any time by the intellectual property owners.

If all owners were to enforce their rights eBay would cease to exist as the only thing that could be sold were items that utilized public domain IP.

This is regardless of whether the item is a counterfeit or not. Even if its legit one still does not have the right to use any IP utilized on the item. Taking a photo of IP and publishing it on eBay is reproducing it without the owner's permission.

Regardless of whether is via chat or on the phone they are still the same bunch of liars.

Last several days my account has offered no eBay live chat and instead they want to call you.

Another Trump needs to go after is taxing foreign call centers as a service to bring the jobs back here for American based companies.

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

If you use the link below for the Automated Assistant or Chat box and want to talk with a person instead of the bot, type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You may then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

WHAT ?

Who cares what the manufacturers say/do?

1) its been eBay who has been sued, NOT PACE in court at least 2x and lost (thats why VERO was created)

2) asking the people who allow fakes on site to begin with (by REFUSING to police the site with ANY of their staff) to uphold ANY law is beyond bizarre. AKA asking the fox to guard the hen house.

3) Under both Lanham and The First Sale Doctrine, sellers of legally obtained items DO NOT NEED permission from ANYONE to resell items, period. Its black letter law, period.

If you are going to accuse someone of selling fakes - better make sure you have some proof. Just because you DONT want your items for sale on eBay, DOESNT let you lie and make false claims - claims that eBay KNEW were false and let proceed.

eBay knew the claims were false and after my lawyers dealt with it - I got an "oops we are so sorry".

So sorry my @$$.

I was NEVER sued by anyone (claiming I sold fakes), and the companies who claimed the items were fake - never even "shopped me" to obtain one as to examine it!

They admitted that it was all to keep items off eBay. SO SORRY that my handfull of items cause SO MUCH ISSUE.

The fact that you cant see that eBay is Californias BIGGEST criminal organization - is not MY FAULT.

Facebook Marketplace is similarly bad if not worse.  Trying to get a response from them to resolve a system bug that keeps giving me error message when it asks for my tax number in order to be able to ship orders.  Three months and counting.

before i complain about that, i am not having difficulty seeing this as a blessing in disguise.
I recently sold my Amazon site, and havent slept this well in sooooo long!

Back in the good old days (way before the pandemic) I had a phone number direct to customer service. There may have been a queue/wait time but you eventually spoke to someone. Then you had to go through the Help infinite tree which circled you back to the beginning and eventually, maybe, set you up in a Chat session with a robot. Early on it was relatively easy to keep typing AGENT or CALL ME. If appropriate FRAUD also helped. That usually resulted in a call back. I have never been forced into an eMail exchange. I have, on occasion, received helpful information about an issue from a CS agent. MANY more times I have been lied to, outright, sometimes over and over on the same issue. "I don't know why they told you that, they should be disciplined, let me fix it." Another lie, no fix. Regardless of outcome I use the CS Feedback requests to leave one stars for eBay service in general which is consistently pretty horrible.
