Watch Your Settings on Amazon, Seller Warns

Dear Ina,
I did not know this but Amazon will automatically add store entries to seller accounts for Brazil, Canada, and Mexico. Be careful when you take your store off of vacation that you do not do take these countries off of "Inactive". If you do, you will automatically be charged with subscription fees for those countries!

They added Brazil to my store without my knowledge. I panicked. I did a chat with their support team and found out about the additional countries that they will be adding in the future. I asked them if they will notify everyone of this change to their account, and they were not sure! 

This means Amazon can arbitrarily go into your account and add whatever they want!

I don't spend a dime on Amazon anymore.  I've pretty much stopped selling there.  Too heavy handed, they've gated most brands (they stopped me from selling brands that I was grandfathered into) and there are just too many hoops to jump through.  But more than anything, I won't spend a dime on anything associated with Jeff Bezos.

FIRSTLY: Selling my Amazon store was the smartest thing i did in 2025...yee haa!

a couple years before that they added Brazil to my store, too

They told me they could not delete it, i "probably did it by accident"...thanks for your post....now i see how much of an 'accident' it really was.

anyway, i was never charged anything to do with BRAZIL
