eBay to Share Key Announcements on October 23rd

eBay is holding its quarterly Seller Check-in event this week where eBay executives will share key announcements. The 2-hour event will also include sessions for sellers on preparing for the peak shopping season and on growing their eBay businesses.

On October 23 from 3:00 to 3:45 pm Eastern, eBay executives will speak, including Dawn Block (VP & GM, US Market & Global Selling); Rebecca Michals (Director, Seller Community & Engagement); Stuart Reichenbach (Senior Director, Shipping); and Jaskiran Makkar (Senior Product Manager). After the keynote, eBay will host sessions featuring employees and sellers speaking on various topics.

eBay notified sellers of the October seller check-in by email and in a post on the eBay Seller Announcement Board on October 14, writing in part:

"Get ready for this year's holiday season alongside eBay leaders and your seller community at Winter Seller Check-In on Thursday, October 23. eBay teams will be on hand to answer your questions and discuss key topics like shipping, advertising, and marketing. Plus, we'll host specialized category sessions, seller networking, and live Q&A with our Seller Advocacy representatives, Chuck Van Pelt and Jonathan Chard."

Holiday season. (Now begins in October and ends in late January.)  USPS and other carrier surge pricing.  More fees for eBay. Less profits for sellers.

What questions would you ask eBay executives?

Why haven’t they ACTUALLY answered the questions posed to them for the past 15 years yet?  

Since when has the eBay executive ever cared about anything the sellers wanted?

Hi, so...

#1 When will you be restoring a sellers ability to leave negative feedbacks?
#2 When will you start giving sellers the interest on the "float" now that you arent dispersing funds immediately?
#3 When will you remove the horrid AI portions on CS and rehire trained CS agents who have authority to solve problems individually?
#4 When will you be admitting that ADVERTISING and not FVF on sales is running your business aka when will you get back to concentrating on ACTUAL sales?
#5 When will you be reforming VERO and have them sop harassing honest sellers and instead remove all the listings that say "REPRODUCTION" in them?

I could go on - but since its going to ONLY be a "buy more ads" cheerleader speech .... yawn .. I dont think i care much.

How about turning the lights back on!!  When a lot of us long time sellers have been experiencing the same thing, like sales down 60% from last year, there is a problem!  and before you ask, yes I do promoted listings and free shipping as do many other long time sellers.  You have full-time sellers trying to find jobs now it so bad.  Go back to the way it used to be years ago without all the AI searches or AI anything and the crappy algorithms!!!!!

The eBay of today isn’t the eBay of years ago (sadly).

The only people who believe that eBay has 100 million + buyers - are a few Wall Street dopes (who will believe anything) and eBay management (who keep standing in front of mirrors repeating it over and over “demanding “ that it may be true.

And, even if they do have buyers - eBay is %100 pure Pay for Play (like the mafia). Aka, if you want sales you must pay up to the boss and he will magically give you sales (not just pay an extra %5 or so for advertising.

It’s all bs and no one says anything….
