eBay Launches New Sites for Buyers in Finland, Hungary and Portugal

Email This Story to a Friend

Earlier in 2010 eBay opened sites in Russia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Denmark, Sweden and Norway as part of its eBay International Market program. On Thursday, eBay expanded the program, announcing the launch of sites in Finland, Hungary and Portugal and adding an additional 25 million people who are now able to use a local eBay website to make international purchases.

The new sites are offered in local languages (sellers' item titles and descriptions are not translated, however), and shoppers are able to search for items across eBay's global inventory for fixed-price items (no auctions) that can be delivered to their location. Prices are converted into local currency, and customer support is provided in the local language.

PayPal is the only accepted form of payment on the eBay International Market sites, and eBay Buyer Protection applies to transactions.

Information for sellers wishing to reach the International Markets is available on this eBay UK page.
