WorthPoint Reaches Subscriber Milestone, 10,000 Paid Users
By Ina Steiner
Worthpoint, a provider of valuation for art, antiques and collectibles, announced it has reached 10,000 paid subscribers and plans to accelerate growth with new features. WorthPoint founder and CEO Will Seippel said Worthpoint totally revamped and re-launched the business in spring of last year, but said the company is just getting started. "Over the coming months we will make many key additions that we believe will make WorthPoint a virtually indispensible tool set for anyone involved in art, antiques and collectibles."
New features include new search functionality, a robust taxonomy structure enabling faster, more precise value assessments, community forums for both free and paid members, and an iPhone/iPad application enabling a full range of search and analytics functions for users when attending auctions, trade shows, estate sales and other remote locations. In addition, the company said it would greatly expand its price guide from 67 million items to more than 100 million items aggregated from eBay, leading auction houses, and virtual marketplaces.
