Welcome to our special issue of EcommerceBytes Update devoted to Sellers Choice, where readers weigh in on the marketplaces on which they sell. Thanks to everyone who nominated their top marketplaces and then went on to rate them.

The 3 top-rated marketplaces are also the biggest - but while Amazon came in first, Etsy beat its larger rival eBay for the number-two spot.

But it's the comments - the good, the bad, and the ugly, as we call it - that is our favorite part of the annual feature. Included in comments were concerns about low traffic, seller protection, returns policies, competitors, mass merchandise, seller tools, customer support, scammers - and of course, fees.
