eBay Now Runs Invitation-Only Promotions in UK

Email This Story to a Friend

eBay.com sellers have had to get used to seller listing promotions in which they could not participate thanks to the company's decision to launch invitation-only promotions to select sellers, rather than all-inclusive ones. Now, business sellers in the UK are being subjected to the same treatment.

eBay UK is running a promotion from August 26 - 30, 2013, but only sellers who receive the invitation by email or through My eBay messages can participate.

eBay UK typically runs promotions for private (casual) sellers on the weekends, but it's rare for eBay to run promotions for business sellers - so the latter group may see this as good news in that at least they have a chance at being eligible for free-listing promotions.

The current promo allows invited sellers to list up to 50,000 Fixed Price listings on eBay.co.uk and pay no insertion fees. Business sellers must be registered as resident in the UK and must have been invited to participate. Participation is linked to the seller's account and is not transferable.

Only business sellers whose accounts meet eBay's minimum seller performance standards are eligible. Sellers who registered after March 15, 2011 or who have not listed any items for a while may have a selling allowance of 10 items per month or 650 pounds per month (with respect to value of items sold), whichever is reached first.

All other fees apply, see eBay UK website for details and restrictions.
