eBay.com Announces Eight-Day Promotion Open to All Sellers
By Ina Steiner
eBay announced a listing promotion in what it called "amazing news" for sellers. The two "amazing" parts of the news are one, all sellers can participate, and two, the listing the duration of the promotion: it runs from August 28 through September 4, 2013.
eBay.com has been running primarily invitation-only promotions since last summer, but with the promo that kicks off on Wednesday, all sellers can list up to 500 auction or fixed price listings and pay no insertion fees. Sellers can also add Buy It Now to auction listings for no additional fee, and 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, and 30-day listing durations are included in the promotion. (eBay does not appear to have spelled out whether the upgrade fees for longer duration listings will be waived as part of the promotion.)
Interestingly eBay UK, which doesn't usually run invitation-only promotions, is currently running such a promotion.
For the current eBay.com promo, only sellers whose accounts meet eBay's minimum seller performance standards are eligible. All existing selling limits as well as category and item limits apply and may exclude sellers from creating the maximum number of listings in the promotion.
All other fees apply, see eBay website for details and restrictions.
