A Nintendo Wii console sells on eBay every 8 minutes. Impressed? A Sony Playstation 3 console sells on eBay every 4 minutes. But the winner is a Microsoft Xbox console - eBay sells one every 3 minutes!

Electronics is an important category for eBay, along with Fashion and Motors - Parts and Accessories. eBay released the figures to coincide with its attendance at the recent E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo annual video game conference.

Along with the factoids mentioned above, eBay published a list of the top selling video game consoles in terms of specific models sold on eBay.com between January 1 - May 22, 2013. Number one was a black handheld Sony PlayStation Vita with WiFi, followed by a white Nintendo Wii and a Sony PlayStation vita Call of Duty Bundle. In fourth place was the Microsoft Xbox 360 S.

Naturally gamers are also looking for games to play on the consoles. An EA game sells on eBay every minute. An Xbox game and a Sony PlayStation game sell every 20 seconds, while a Nintendo game sells every 15 seconds.

Top games are Call of Duty: Black Ops II (xbox 360 and PlayStation 3); Halo 4 for the Xbox 360; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (Xbox 360); Call of Duty Black Ops (Sony PlayStation 3); and New Super Mario Bros. (Nintendo DS). Rounding out the list of top 10 games was WWE '13, God of War, Gears of War, and Tomb Raider.

eBay published the data on its Electronics Digital Digest blog, where it also featured interviews from various console and game makers taken at the E3 show.
