eBay to Change Affiliate Pricing to Attract New Buyers

eBay warned its affiliate publishers on Tuesday that new pricing was in the works. Over the next few weeks and months, eBay will be making changes to its pricing structure.

The eBay Partner Network (ePN) told members that eBay had recently announced and outlined a strategic vision for the future, a likely reference to eBay Analyst Day.

"As eBay focuses on providing better customer experiences and attracting new users, eBay Partner Network is adapting to align with these company-wide initiatives."

While short on detail, ePN did provide a hint that it might start offering lower compensation for repeat visitors.

"One of our most important priorities moving forward is to attract new and infrequent buyers to our site, and it will be these types of users who will be receiving the highest weight, in terms of publisher compensation. In turn, less weight will be given to other types of traffic that drive existing frequent buyers to eBay."

eBay affiliates will likely find it more difficult to drive newbies to the site.
