Etsy Launches Badges to Help Sellers Drive Traffic to Listings

Etsy has launched a new feature to help sellers drive traffic to their listings. Etsy Badges is a promotional tool that allows sellers to drive traffic from their websites or blogs to their shops. Sellers can access Badges by clicking the Off-site link in the Promote section of their shops.

Etsy Badges are available in several sizes, and come with analytics so sellers can measure the traffic they drive to their shops.

In a blog post announcing the badges, Etsy also reminded sellers to create Coupon Codes for special discounts they may running in order to attract holiday shoppers. "Your coupon codes are unique to your shop, and you determine when shoppers can redeem your codes by activating and deactivating them." Etsy offers two types of coupon codes: Percent Discounts (for a flat percentage off a shopper's entire order; and Free Shipping (for waiving shipping costs on the order).

And Etsy reminded sellers to "make the most of social media," reminding them to post newly listed items to their Facebook and Twitter accounts and to offer followers special discounts and giveaways. "Rewarding your fan base can help increase sales and repeat customers," Etsy advised, and suggested creating special coupon codes for each social network.
