eBay and PayPal Execs to Speak at Fall Mobile-Shopping Conferences

Tis the season for mobile-shopping conferences, and eBay executives will be sharing their experiences with mobile payments and shopping with attendees.

PayPal President David Marcus will be keynoting the Open Mobile Summit (November 7-9, 2012), and eBay Vice President Steve Yankovich will be speaking at both the Open Mobile Summit and Internet Retailer's MMCF - "Mobile Marketing and Commerce Forum" (October 8-10, 2012).

In his keynote at the Open Mobile Summit, PayPal's David Marcus will speak on future of mobile payments and mobile wallet in an address entitled, "The future of transactions, everywhere." He will also be on a keynote panel called, "The Age of mCommerce" with Michael Collins, CEO of Joule, and Gibu Thomas, SVP of Mobile & Digital at Walmart. The panel will discuss how the mobile revolution is impacting retail, the evolution of the mobile wallet and contactless payments, and whether the social graph informs the commerce purchase, or whether commerce activities will take place within the social networks.

eBay's Steve Yankovich will be on a panel at the Open Mobile Summit entitled, "The future of shopping: Mobile comes to centre stage" along with Bridget Dolan, VP Interactive at Sephora; Brandon McGee, Director Global Mobile at Dell; Nick Sheth, Sr. Director of Marketing at The Gap; and Mir Aamir, President of Customer Loyalty at Safeway.

The panel will discuss the future of shopping including how to leverage social, location and commerce for a personalized experience; "Tablet commerce"; and integrated experiences - How leading retailers are bridging the online and in-store experience across multiple devices. Julie Ask, Principal Analyst at Forrester Research, will moderate the panel.

Also speaking at the Open Mobile Summit are executives from Walmart, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Dell, Gap and Sephora. The Open Mobile Summit, produced by Open Mobile Media Ltd. and in its 5th year, takes place in San Francisco, November 7-9.

Yankovich will also be giving a keynote address at MMCF called, "Mobilizing for the future: How eBay Inc. and mobile are transforming the way the world shops."

Mobile Product Lead for PayPal Kent Griffin will also be speaking on a panel with Roger Andelin, President & Chief Technology Officer of, on mobile payments - "The fuel that powers m-commerce." The Mobile Marketing and Commerce Forum takes place in San Diego next week.

eBay is predicting that shoppers will purchase $10 billion in goods from its site via mobile devices this year, and it recently reached a milestone 100 million downloads of its mobile apps.
