PayPal to Bring Entire Site Down during April 20th Upgrade

PayPal has scheduled maintenance for a 2-hour period from midnight April 19 to 2:00 am on April 20, and its site will be down and inaccessible for one hour during the upgrade. PayPal occasionally conducts such maintenance, including in May and June of last year.

According to the announcement on, "During the time of the upgrade, there will be a system-wide interruption to the PayPal API services and our website. This means that customers will not be able to log into or use their PayPal accounts."

During the 2-hour period, PayPal customers will be unable to file claims and/or respond to disputes and may experience the error, "We're sorry, but we're unable to show all of your cases at this time" or, "Sorry - your last action could not be completed," when trying to access the Resolution Center.

Beginning at 1:00 am, there will be a complete system-wide interruption to PayPal's website and API services for one hour. eBay Canada warned its sellers that during that time, PayPal services - including Checkout - would be unavailable.

PayPal has been experiencing technical issues this month, including a glitch in which eBay buyers were unable to checkout using PayPal and another in which many or all transactions were shown to sellers as being high risk.
