eBay Removes BI Industrial Category from Bucks Loyalty Program
By Ina Steiner
Participants in the eBay Bucks program will be excluded from earning rewards for purchases made in the Business & Industrial category. According to spokesperson Johnna Hoff, eBay will exclude the category as of April 1, 2012. eBay began notifying customers impacted by the policy on March 20th.
Categories in which purchases are already excluded from earning eBay Bucks include Real Estate, Classifieds, eBay Motors (but not Parts & Accessories), eBay Gift Cards within the Gift Cards & coupons category, and Bullion within the Coins & Paper Money category.
Hoff said it was important to note that eBay Bucks could still be redeemed in any eBay category. Participants can earn 2% on purchases up to $100 in eBay Bucks on any single eBay purchase, and up to $500 in eBay Bucks for all qualifying purchases during a given calendar quarter.
The eBay Bucks program also runs Merchant Offers in which participants may be able to earn additional Bucks rewards for using services from other companies.
